Nikolayev town public organization “Fund for Development of Nikolayev" NGO FDN was based in 1995 for assistance to development of communities in Nikolayev and the region by means of effective advancement of civil initiatives and increase of activity of the non government organizations and informal groups, and also for solving of social problems of communities.

Principle by which we are guided: «Association of efforts of communities for the sake of region prosperity!»

OUR MISSION AND TASKS:

Mission of the FDN is - assistance to development of civil society and maintenance of sotsitsialno-economic stability of Southern Ukraine by support of civil initiatives.

Tasks of the organization:

Association of efforts of public organizations for development of the town, area and southern region of Ukraine;
Creation of the social capital by formation of civil initiatives in regional communities;
Financing of socially significant projects on a competitive basis;
Cooperation and mutual understanding of development between NGOs, the government and business;
Salvation of social problems in the town and regional communities;
Development volunteering and social movement;
Granting of information, methodical and educational services for representatives of the third sector.

“The Fund for Development of Nikolayev” already works more than three years on technology of соmmunitу fоundation.

Funds of local communities, or aka Community Funds in Western Europe are funds for development created on means of local patrons of art, which basic task is to finance local social, cultural, educational programs and civil initiatives on a competitive basis by means of grants. Funds of local communities form the capital of local donations (businessmen, the state structures and private persons), the percent from which is the basic source of financing of grants.
