The project was realized during the period from 01 April 2010 to 30 March 2011, with financial support from the National
Endowment for Democracy (NED).
In order to achieve democratic consolidation in Ukraine which we began to do in 2004 we create conditions for sustainable development of institutional capacity of local civil society groups (LCG), as an effective defender of the rights and interests of citizens in local communities of Nikolayev and Kherson regions and Crimea. The problem is the inability to protect the interests of the LCG and rights of citizens in decision-making and policy implementation of this sphere on the local level.
Therefore, in 2010, «Center of self organization of Southern Ukraine» was created on base of the FDN and its partners in Kherson and Feodosia (Crimea) as a tool for development of organizational capabilities of the LCG — effective defender of rights and interests of citizens in local communities in the region.
